Combined Defence Services

CDS 2 2022 notification has been released for 339 vacancies. The eligible candidates can fill CDS application form from May 18 to June 07, 2022. The Application Withdrawal Window will be live from June 14-20, 2022. CDS 2 exam 2022 is scheduled for September 04, 2022. UPSC will soon release the CDS 2 2022 admit card on its official website. Registered candidates can download their UPSC CDS 2 admit card 2022 by entering their roll number and registration number.

UPSC has also announced exam dates for the CDS examination cycle of 2023. The CDS 1 2023 exam will be held on April 06, 2023. The exam center will be in 70 cities. The release of the CDS Admit Card will be three weeks before the exam date.

Combined Defence Services

The "Combined Defence Services" (CDS) Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the recruitment of candidates into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The UPSC will conduct the CDS exam twice a year in the month of February and September.

Candidates who aim to serve the nation by joining the defence forces can start applying for the CDS examination. In order to apply online for the CDS examination, candidates should meet all the eligibility requirements set by the Commission. The selection of the candidates will be based on the written examination followed by an interview for intelligence and personality test. The shortlisted candidates will be placed at the respective academies based on the preference and merit.

CDS Exam Pattern

The CDS 2022 exam is a two-tier national examination conducted by the UPSC. The aspirants have to clear both exams to get selected for the services. The UPSC releases the merit list based on the marks scored by aspirants in the exams.

The mode of exam is offline and contains 300 objective-type questions. The aspirants need to tick the right option from the provided options. The duration provided for the exam is 2 hours. There is a negative marking of ⅓ for every incorrect answer marked by the aspirants.

CDS exam pattern for the posts of Officers Training Academy is consisted of General Knowledge for 100 marks and English for 100 marks.

CDS Exam Pattern of Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Military Academy is consisted of Elementary Mathematics for 100 marks,General Knowledge for 100 marks and English for 100 marks.
